Sachin Pilot commissioned as a Lieutenant in Territorial Army

Indian Union Minister of state for Telecommunication and Information Technology is commissioned to be a Lieutenant in Territorial Army on 6 September 2012. He was ‘pipped’ by the Army Chief Bikram Singh at the commissioning ceremony organized in South Block, at the Integrated Headquarters of the Ministry of Defence (Army). With this he has turned up to be a part of ‘124 TA (Sikh) Battalion’ the one also known by the name of ‘Urban Concept’ battalion. Along with commissioning, he will have to attend "14 camp and 22 parade days'' in a year.

Sachin Pilot has turned up to be the first union minister to be commissioned as an officer on regular basis in Territorial Army. He cleared the exam that was conducted by the Territorial Army and the SSB interview round at Allahabad. He will be ‘pipped’ by the Army Chief Bikram Singh at the commissioning ceremony organized at the Integrated Headquarters of the Ministry of Defence (Army).

Sachin Pilot age 35 is a son of late Squadron Leader Rajesh Pilot who also was IAF (Indian Air Force) fighting pilot. He is a MP from Ajmer Lok Sabha Constituency of Rajasthan. A graduate from St. Stephens College, Delhi Sachin holds a masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Wharton Business School based in United States.
