Second Santali Film RASCA Awards 2011 is scheduled to be organised on 5 May 2011. Santali Film RASCA Awards are organised by Pandit Raghunath Academy of Santali Cinema and Art (RASCA). The awards will be given after a gap of two years due to parliamentary election in 2009 as well as because of inadequate number of Santali films produced in the subsequent years. A total of ten Santali Santali films, including five feature and five video films from tribal-dominated states such as Assam, Orissa, Bengal and Jharkhand were nominated for the second Santali Film RASCA Award.
About 30 awards will be given in various category including best actor, actress, producer and director during the function.
Director of RASCA Surya Singh Besra, who is also the president of the Jharkhand People's Party (JPP), demanded that the Jharkhand government should take initiative to set up Jharkhand State Film Development Corporation to promote regional and tribal films in the state. He highlighted that regional and tribal films have lagged behind in the absence of film a development corporation.
