Institute of Physics (IoP), Bhubaneswar, India, an autonomous Research Institute within the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, issued notification inviting applications for filling up 11 faculty positions of Assistant Professor (E), Reader (F) and Associate Professor (G) with the Institute in the areas of Theoretical High Energy Physics, Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics and Experimental Physics. 1. Assistant Professor (E):
Pay Scale: Pay Band of Rs.15600-39100 with Grade Pay of Rs.7600
Age limit:below 35 years
Qualifications:at least two years of post-doctoral experience.
2. Reader (F):
Remuneration: Pay Band of Rs.37400- 67000 with Grade Pay of Rs.8700
Age limit: below 38 years
Qualifications: minimum 5 years or more of post-doctoral experience.
3. Associate Professor (G):
Remuneration: Pay Band of Rs.37400- 67000 with Grade Pay of Rs.8900
Age limit: below 38 years
Qualifications: for direct appointment as Associate Professor (G), candidate in a similar position or at the level of Reader (F) for more than four years and having minimum 5 years of post-doctoral experience will only be considered
Fields in which vacancies are available:
a. Theoretical High Energy Physics:Preferably in the areas of cosmology, cosmo-particle physics, high energy phenomenology, quantum gravity and string theory.
b. Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics:Preferably in the areas of quantum aspects of condensed matter physics, soft condensed matter physics, statistical physics and complex systems.
c. Experimental Physics:Preferably in the areas of surface, interface, nano-science, condensed matter physics, soft condensed matter physics, high energy physics and low energy accelerator physics.
