Logarithms are a convenient way to express large numbers. Before the invention of calculators, the only alternative to slide rules was to use tables of logarithms.
The logarithm of a positive real number x with respect to base b, a positive real number not equal to 1, is the exponent by which b must be raised so as to yield x. In other words, the logarithm of x to base b is the solution y to the equation, by = x.

Many students have confusion about logarithms and find it difficult to find. Like anything else logarithm is not a very tough thing to understand. It’s actually a small skill in and of itself.
