Small Savings Scheme Rates From October 1: October 1, 2026 has brought many financial changes, and one of them is unchanged interest rates for the small savings schemes. The Government of India has kept the interest rates unchanged in various small savings schemes. This includes Public Provident Fund (PPF), National Savings Certificate (NSC) and Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, for the third quarter of the financial year 2026-27.
The unchanged rates are applicable on the accounts for the period of two months. Starting from October 1, 2026, till the end of the year, December 31, 2026. The rates will remain the same as the previous rates.

According to a Finance Ministry notification issued on September 30, the decision marks the 10th consecutive quarter of unchanged interest rates on small savings schemes. These schemes are mainly operated through post offices and banks and remain popular among investors seeking government-backed savings options.

Small Savings Rates Unchanged For 10th Consecutive Quarter
The Government of India has kept the rates unchanged for the 10th consecutive quarter without a change. These interest rates were last changed in the fourth quarter of the financial year 2023-24.
