Green Circle-RWITC Foundation launched to promote clean and green living

To promote clean and green living, a green foundation named Green Circle – RWITC Foundation was launched in Mumbai on 14 February 2014. The organisation will promote its goal through social, cultural and public programmes. The foundation has been set up by Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) along with the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI).

This foundation will also work towards spreading awareness about importance of solar energy and its benefits to the society. Various activities have been planned in phases under the foundation to improve Club’s infrastructure to make it environment friendly and efficient. In the process of development of the foundation energy audit will be conducted and carbon reading of the club will be done followed by bio-diversity Resource Park.

TERI will work to create programmes of information, inspiration and awareness.

TERI was formally established in 1974 with the purpose of tackling and dealing with the immense and acute problems that mankind is likely to face within in the years ahead

• On account of the gradual depletion of the earth's finite energy resources which are largely non-renewable and
• On account of the existing methods of their use which are polluting
