Airtel Delhi Half Marathon raised 4.04 crore rupees for charity, which is the highest amount in the history of this event. Airtel Delhi Half Marathon is organised every year in the capital of India and it is a 5-year old event now. Around 60 NGOs in the country would be benefiting from these funds.
Urvi Maheshwari (12), the youngest Dream Maker raised over 2.47 lakh aiding the Cause of the Girl Child. The beneficiaries would be over 4000 underprivileged children, mainly girls in more than 20 Satya Bharti schools.
Airtel Delhi Half Marathon helped raising 14.27 crore Rupees towards charity since 2008. This year, the amount raised is 74 lakh Rupees higher from previous year’s 3.3 crore Rupees.
The Airtel Delhi Half Marathon which was held on 30 September 2012 registered record participants. The Corporate Challenge, which is a part of Airtel Delhi Half Marathon, was sold with 72 companies fielding 95 teams. These 95 teams grossed over 2.62 crore Rupees. Fluor Daniel was the winner of title, highest pledge raising company as it raised 1.82 lakh rupees for supporting an NGO, Khushboo Welfare Society.
