Recently, the board has announced the starting date on the CBSE Class 10th Board Examination 2014 which is likely to be start from 01 March 2014. In the previous year, the Class 10th Examination was started with Painting Examination conducted on 01 March 2013 and ended on 15 March 2013 with Home Science Examination.

According to survey, it is found that almost 22.65 lakh students will appear in the coming Class 10th board examination. In comparison, the number of students who appeared in the previous year board examination was 21.76 lakhs in March 2013. The number has increased by above 20,000.
According to officials of CBSE, a total of 13,25,627 students have applied for the Class X exam. Among that, 7.29 lakh students will appear for the school-based Summative II, whereas 5.96 lakhs students will tgive the Board-based external exam. "The number of students taking the external and school-based exams has stabilized. Now, 55% students prefer the school-based exam," said Vineet Joshi, Chairman of CBSE.
The number of appearing students is increasing every year as the number of appearing student for 2014 year has already break all the record.
The Central Board of Examination has announced the Class 10th Result 2013 on 30 May 2013. However, the Board examination for the same was conducted in the month of March and April. Students can get their result through different mediums like Internet, Telephone and more.
The Board received helping hand from National Informatics Center, department of information technology , Ministry of communication and Information technology, Govt of India to provide instant and error free excess of the result. the CBSE 10th board examination result was accessible through different URLs.
The CBSE also initiated the continuous and comprehensive Evaluation (CCI) system exclusively in the history of the board in the year of 2011. Board furnish to all Jawaharlal Navodaya Vidyalaya's, Kendriya vidyalayas's (KV) and schools recognized by the central government under private schools.
