Maharashtra: Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, MSBSHSE, has announced a key reform in its documentation system by introducing a single marksheet-certificate for students. This new format will apply to both SSC, i.e, Class 10, and HSC, i.e., Class 12 students, replacing the earlier practice of issuing separate documents.
New Marksheet Format and Key Features
Under the new system, students will receive a consolidated document that includes both their academic marks and a passing certificate. The board has also decided to incorporate a QR code and a passport-sized photograph on the document. This feature will allow institutions and employers to instantly verify the authenticity of the marksheet, reducing the risk of forgery. Another important update is the standardisation of student details.

The board will ensure that names printed on the document match official records, such as Aadhar, to avoid discrepancies during the admissions or job application process. The move is expected to streamline administrative processes and make it easier for students to manage their academic records. It will also reduce the need for multiple documents and improve overall efficiency in verification. The board will implement this change soon, benefiting lakhs of students across the state with a more secure and simplified certification system.
