Notification Clarifies Correct Values of Zeros
According to the latest notification released by the NTA, the answers to Numerical Question in JEE Main Exam will have answers also in numeric format. And for such answers, the exam authority has said that it will accept answers submitted by the candidates in different formats based on values of zeros. The notification states that “the value of zeroes in decimal would be disregarded and all equivalent decimal values would be marked as correct.”
Furthermore, the notice also provides a detailed example of this which says “‘if the Answer for the Numerical value Questions is, say 5 then all the values like 5, 5.0, 5.00, 5.000, 5.0000, 05, 05.0, 05.00, 05.000, 05.0000 are correct answers.’
No Negative Marking for Numerical Questions
While going through the notification, candidates must also note that the Numerical Questions asked in JEE Main 2020 exam do not attract any negative marking for wrong answers. In other words, if a student has given incorrect answer for the numerical question, the student would be scored a zero for that question and not a negative 1.
