CEED is known as common entrance examination for design is a joint entrance examination for post graduate studies in the field of technological design that is jointly conducted by Indian institute of science. The examinations for the same are hosted by Industrial design center, Indian institute of technology Bombay. This is a descriptive test which covers the student’s logic, creative observation, and drawing skills that are tested in particular for admission to various design courses in the field of product design, industrial design and communication and many more.
As far as the eligibility criteria of the same are concerned, there is no bar to the age of the candidate or number of times a candidate can participate in the examination. The minimum academic qualification a student should possess for appearing in these examinations is that they should be minimum a graduate in the field of architecture, fine arts, or engineering from any recognized college or university of India. All candidates who have qualified such examinations with a valid CEED examination score automatically becomes eligible to apply for various programs under IIT or IIS. A valid score thus does not sure ensure admission to the desired institute. It is also mandatory for the candidates to appear for the second test which is known as design aptitude test which is followed by prior to final selection by the respective institutes.
From the year 2012, CEED has changed its examination pattern and in the present scenario the examination is conducted in two parts A and B. And it is also mandatory for the candidates to answer both the parts. Part A is regarded as a screening test and it comprises of 40 questions and it also includes negative marking. These sections include general knowledge and awareness questions. Adding on, part B is evaluated for those candidates who are short listed in screening test (Test A). All such questions in the examinations particularly examines the drawing and creative skills of the candidate appearing for the examinations.
All such examinations play a significant role in the life of a student. This is because, such examinations offer great future prospects to the students. Clearing these examinations and getting through reputed institutes definitely requires hard work and determination. It is not an over- night process. Focus and persistence are the keys to success. Moreover, students also need to very carefully choose their study material. This is because a valid study material will help the students to create wonders.
