About NIT Arunachal Pradesh

National institute of Arunachal Pradesh, is one of the 30 national institutes of technology, and is recognized as an institute of national importance. TheNIT Arunachal Pradesh institute functions under the NIT act, and the governing body consists of the minister of human resource and development. The institute at the same time offers under graduate programs in engineering and consist of three departments with about 15 faculty members and around 180 enrolled students. Apart from this, three more branches have also been opened such as Mechanical engineering, civil engineering and biotech engineering.

Previously, students were supposed to appear for All India engineering entrance examination conducted by CBSE. In the year 2011, more than one million students wrote this test in order to seek admission in the 30 NIT’s. This statistics certainly makes it one of the largest examinations in the world. The NIT also follows a reservation policy declared by the supreme court of India, in which 27% of the seats are reserved for other backward classes, 15% of the seats for scheduled castes, and 7.5% for scheduled tribes. The institute also accepts foreign nationals through scholarships awarded by the government of India, and non- resident Indians through an independent scheme known as Direct admission for students abroad(DASA). As of now, students seeking admissions into the same are supposed to write Joint Entrance examination, and clear the set cut off. Once the cut off is cleared and the ranks are displayed, students are provided admissions accordingly.

Besides the academic part, there are various cultural festivities which are organized by the institute. It goes without saying that each and everything is managed by the bunch of students. This is how students learn to manage things and also their managerial skills are conditioned respectively. For instance, the cultural festival ATULYAM was held in the month of October, and is an inter college annual cultural festival. This festival comprise of fun, entertainment, integrated with responsibility and awareness creating a holistic and magical environment making this festival grand and nation -wide. There are approximately 23 events which successfully take place in the festival and students from the entire country come and take part in the same. Judges are appointed for every event and accordingly the results for the same are declared. All such activities play a very important role in the development and grooming of a student. It is only through such activities students learn and thereby grow.
