About NIT Jalandhar

NIT Jalandhar is popularly known as Dr. B.R. Ambedkar national institute of technology is a public engineering institute located in the state of Punjab. This institute is one of the youngest of the 20 national institutes of technology of India. The institute was founded as a joint venture between the governments of Punjab and India, which was originally under the name of Punjab regional engineering college, Jalandhar.

The institute was established in 1987 as a regional engineering college and was given the status of national institute of technology or deemed university by the government of India, in the year 2002 under the Ministry of Human resource development.

It goes without saying that the admissions to the B. tech programs are extremely competitive and students in the same are admitted through Joint Entrance examinations. Previously students were supposed to write All India entrance examinations till the year 2012 but from the year 2013 the pattern of the examination changed. Admissions to the post graduate programs or M.tech were purely done on the basis of GATE score which is conducted by Indian institute of technology and IISc. The post graduate admission is on the basis of research and interviews which is conducted by the appropriate screening committees.

The institute without a doubt is one of the frequently visited institute visited by Indian and foreign Multinational corporations for offering placements to final year B. Tech and M. tech students.

All these institutes play a very important role in the growth and development of a student. There are different departments in the institute which not only contribute in the academics part but also in the extra -curricular activities. There are also technical activities such as departmental gathering, workshops, guest lectures and other various competitions organized by the department as well in order to equip students and make them proficient.

Every year there are lakhs of students who appear for these examinations and very few of them get selected. Students are supposed to work extremely hard in order to get through the examination. In the present scenario, there are various sample papers and model test papers which provide a great help to the students. These sample papers include all the past year questions and expected questions in the examinations. In a nutshell, it is extremely important for every student to work hard and get through all these examinations. Competition these days has progressively increased, therefore it is always advisable to work hard and stay persistent.
