UPSESSB is popularly known as Uttar Pradesh secondary education service selection board was passed by the Uttar Pradesh legislature to establish Secondary Education (Service selection boards) Act, 1982, for the selection of teachers in institutions recognized under the intermediate education act, 1921. The main objective of the board was to select the teachers under the provisions of this Act. The main objectives of the board were to prepare guidelines on matters relating to the direct recruitment of teachers. The main role of Pradesh board is to conduct examinations and where necessary to hold interviews and make selection of candidates for being appointed as teachers. The U.P board even makes recommendations regarding the appointment of teachers and also to advise the management in matters relating to dismissal, removal, termination, and reduction in rank of teachers. Other objectives of the board are stated below

1. To fix the emoluments and travelling and other allowances of the experts.
2. To administer the funds placed at the disposal of the board.
3. To select and invite experts and to appoint examiners for the purposes specified in clause.
4. To perform such other duties and exercise such other powers may be prescribed or may be incidental or conducive to the discharge of its functions under this Act or the rules or regulations made there under.

Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Service Selection Board has lately announced the  notification of UPSESSB Recruitment 2014 of TGT & PGT for total 7140 vacancies and inviting all those eligible candidates to submit their application on official site at upsessb.org before due date. UPSESSB is recognized to recruit the various teaching staff for the UP education board means for government schools of UP.

UPSESSB has announced one notification of recruitment on official site and according to that they are going to recruit for the posts of Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) and Post Graduate Teacher (PGT). There are total 7140 vacancies including both posts and those who are eligible can apply for this.
