
Rajasthan Sanskrit University sets up Language Labs: Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Rajasthan Sanskrit University, one of the 15 varsities all across India for promotion of Sanskrit Language, has setup language labs. With this development, Rajasthan Sanskrit University has become the first and only Sanskrit University dedicated to setup language labs that will help in promotion of the language.
Language Labs for 3 Languages
According to the details provided by the varsity, the University has developed laboratories dedicated to three languages i.e. Sanskrit, Hindi and English. With the setting up of languages dedicated to each of the three languages, the varsity is attempting to build an environment that will facilitate learning of languages with correct pronunciation and manner. In addition to this, the language laboratories will also foster creation of new words and translation of words through computer aided education.
Labs to Work on Etymology of Words
According to the information provided Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Rajasthan Sanskrit University Vice Chancellor Dr. Anula Maurya, with the help of language laboratories, the university will try to work on finding the etymological origins of words. Students, researchers and faculty members will try to find the roots and interconnection of words in all three languages through their origins. Currently, students of Shashtri, Acharya and Yoga courses of the university will take classes in the labs, however, non-university students may also enroll in the course, said officials.
New Language Labs for Foreign Language in Works
After the successful initiation of Language Laboratories for Sanskrit, English and Hindi languages; the varsity is also planning to develop laboratories dedicated for foreign languages.
West Bengal Government Forms Committee
In related news, the West Bengal Government has appointed a committee which will develop the roadmap for the development of Sanskrit Language Learning Centres in the state. As per media report, the state government has also decided to allow administration of Sanskrit learning centres through Sanskrit Parishad. Following this, the West Bengal Government also appointed Soma Bandyopadhyay as the vice-chancellor of the West Bengal University of Teachers’ Training.
