Argentina is experiencing peaks in its poverty rates. As per a new study, the poverty rate in Argentina has hit a 20-year high. Here is everything you need to know about the situation.

A study conducted by the Catholic University of Argentina brought about revealed a huge information that talks about the poverty status of Argentina. The study suggests that the levels of poverty in Argentina have hit a 57.4 percent in the month of January this year. This records the highest rate of poverty in the past 2 decades!

The study also reveals a row of accusations between Cristina  Fernández de Kirchner, the Vice President of Argentina and the President Javier Milei's government. The latter came declaring a wide array of shock measures that intended to dal with the severe crisis of the country.

 

What did the report suggest?

 

According to the report, over 27 million people in Argentina are actually poor. A total of 15 percent of this poor population are actually in a state of "destitution". This suggests that this 15 percent actually are unable to meet their food requirements.

As per the study, the highest impact of this poverty has been experienced by the middle class households or the working class. Such a group does not receive advantages through any social programs.
