North Central Railway Recruitment of Male & Female Vocal Singer 2011

The North Central Railway, Allahabad, is known as the Workhorse of Indian Railways which spreads across three divisions viz Allahabad, Jhansi, and Agra. It invites application from eligible candidates for recruitment in the discipline of Male and Female Vocal Singer (classical base with ability to sing Light music and Folk music).

• Male Vocal Singer (classical base with ability to sing Light music and Folk music): 1 vacancy
• Female Vocal Singer (classical base with ability to sing Light music and Folk music): 1 vacancy

Important Dates

• Opening date for sending application: 1 July 2011
• Last date for receipt of application: 30 August 2011 till 6 pm
• Last date for receipt of application (from far flung areas): 14 September 2011

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: The candidate should have a minimum qualification of matriculation or equivalent examination passed with 50% aggregate or higher qualification from any recognised board. The condition of 50% marks is not applicable for those with higher qualification.

Essential Qualification: Possession of degree/ diploma certificate in music from Government recognised institution.

Desirable

• Experience in the field and performances given on AIR/ Doordarshan etc
• Prizes at national level

Age Limit: 18 years and 30 years as on 1 January 2012. Relaxation in age as per rules laid by Government of India.

Pay Scale: Pay Band Rs 5200- 20,200 + Grade Pay Rs 1900 along with other benefits and allowances

Application Fee: The application fee for Unreserved/ OBC candidate is Rs 40. The payment should be made in favour of FA & CAO, North Central Railway, Allahabad payable at Allahabad through Indian Postal Order.

No fee will be charged from SC/ ST/ Widow women.

Selection Procedure: The candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria will have to go through the following tests.

• Written Test (Objective type questions): 50 marks
• Assessment of talent in the relevant field on the basis of Practical Demonstration: 35 marks
• Prizes at national level: 15 marks
