The annual increments are of 3% of the total pay in the pay Band and the corresponding grade Pay. Let`s take one example to understand. Suppose the annual increment paid on the total of Grade Pay of Rs. 2400 and Basic Salary in the Pay Band of Rs. 5200. Then increment will be 3 % of (2400 + 5200) or Rs. 213.

Generally, annual increments are initiated on 1st July. Such increments are applicable to all employees who has completed the tenure of six months or above as on 1st July.

Promotional Increments

As we have discussed the different promotional levels in each category. You will be happy to know that with the increase in grade of profile, there is increase in salary too.

For such increments, departmental exams are conducted in the government offices of various ministries. The grade pay attached to the posts in different levels changes at the time of promotion from one post to another.
