On the last day of the Republican National Convention, Donald Trump delivered a speech. This, however, was not just an ordinary speech, but rather was special in many ways. For instance, this was the former President’s very first speech since the recent assassination attack on him.
Donald Trump is popular for his straightforward and bold tone. However, the acceptance speech this time began with a softer note. The former President began the speech with a personal message, related to the recent assassination attempt experience.
“If I had not moved my head at that very last instant, the assassin’s bullet would have perfectly hit its mark,” the former President said.
“I'm not supposed to be here tonight,” he said, to which the crowd emcee expressed saying, “Yes, you are.”
The speech touched the hearts of many and some even moved to tears. “I stand before you this arena only by the grace of Almighty God,” Trump said.
The longest convention speech
Modern history has not experienced a convention speech longer than this. The speech was under 93 minutes. The speech made the audience emotional, as the former President talked about the recent assassination attempt. The attack on him made him wear a white bandage on the right ear to cover the wound.

The address
He further talked about the division in the society. “The discord and division in our society must be healed. We must heal it quickly. As Americans, we are bound together by a single fate and a shared destiny. We rise together. Or we fall apart,” said Trump. “I am running to be president for all of America, not half of America because there is no victory in winning for half of America.”
Trump also brought forward an agenda that featured the largest deportation operation in the history of the United States. Additionally, Trump also accused the people who are crossing the border of the US-Mexico illegally of actually orchestrating an invasion. Trump also talked about the new trade tariffs. He also addressed the “America First” foreign policy.
What the world may be waiting for, but Trump did not address was abortion rights. He also did not mention the insurrection of Jan 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol.
Additionally, Trump barely mentioned Biden. Rather, he referred to the “current administration.”
Additionally, the former President reiterated unfounded claims that Democrats committed fraud in the elections of 2020 that he lost. Various state and federal investigations found no widespread fraud. Trump argued against the criminalizing dissent, despite the long-standing calls for the prosecution of his opponents.
Finally, the soft tone
Donald Trump is popular for his firm and bold way of addressing. His points in the speeches are often straightforward and bold. This time, however, the tone was gentler. The moments where he talked about the assassination attack on him made the audience emotional. He called the assassination bid day as something "too painful to tell".
