CTET 2014: Eligibility Criteria

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi is all set to conduct the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for filling vacant seats of Teachers for classes I to VIII by eligible candidates.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi is all set to conduct the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for filling vacant seats of Teachers for classes I to VIII by eligible candidates. Send the completely filled Online application before 31 October 2013 along with fee challan copy.

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) will organized on 16 February 2014. The Selected candidates will be appointed as Primary Level Teacher for Classes I-V or Junior Level Teacher for Classes VI-VIII after evaluating their performance in the written examination.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must possess the mentioned minimum educational qualification to be eligible for appearing in CTET.

Educational Qualifications for Classes I-V (Primary Stage) Teacher

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), according to the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.

OR

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary

Education (by whatever name known).

Educational Qualification for Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage) Teacher

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary

Education.

OR

Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in

Education (B.Ed).

OR

Graduation with a minimum of 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in

Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure)

Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) a minimum of 50% marks and passed or appearing

in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or appearing

in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

OR

Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and appearing or passed in 1-year B.Ed. (SpecialEducation).

Note

  • The candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled categories can avail relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks in the minimum Educational Qualification for eligibility to apply.

Final year appearing candidates of Bachelor Degree in Education or Diploma in Elementary Education etc. are admitted provisionally and their CTET Certificate will be valid only on passing the aforesaid Examinations.
