Treaty of Paris (1783)

This particuar Treaty has been an important one, as it ended the American Revolutionary War. It recognized the independence of the United States from the Great Britain. The treaty granted the United States huge territories east of the Mississippi River. Lousisana Purchase Treaty (1803)

The United States negotiated the Louisiana Purchase Treaty with France in the year 1803 It doubled the size of the nation. The United States acquired 828,000 square miles of territory for $15 million. This, eventually gave birth to 15 new states. The purchase was important in the expansion of the United States. The purchase drastically enhanced the influence and resources of the United States.

 

Treaty of Ghent (1814)

The war of 1812 between the Great Britiain and the United States was ended by the Treaty of Ghent. The treaty was successful in restoring the pre-war boundaries. Treaty of Fort Laramie (1868)

This treaty was an agreement between the Lakota Sioux and the United States government. The aim of the treaty had been to establish peace by setting up the Great Siouz Reservation, including the Black Hills of South Dakota. Hay-Bunau-Varilla Treaty (1903)

Treaty of Versailles (1919)

North Atantic Treaty (1949)

This treaty has been significant as it established a military alliance between the United States, Canada, and various Western European countries. This alliance is named as NATO. The creation of the organization had been in repsonse to the increasing threat of teh Soviet Union amid the Cold War. NATO stands as an important institution in global security even today.
