Pritzker served on the legislative staffs of Y.S. Senator Terry Sanford, U.S. Senator Alan J. Dixon, U.S. Representative Tom Lantos, in the 1980s. At that time, he made trade and transportation concerns of top priority. Pritzker founded the Democratic Leadership for the 21st Century. This was a national organization that was aimed to attract voters under 40 to the Democratic Party.
