CTET February 2014: Notification

The Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi invited applications for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) from eligible candidates for appointment as a teacher for classes I to VIII, last date, 31 October 2013.

The Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi will conduct the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for  appointing eligible candidat as a teacher for classes I to VIII on 16 February 2014 (Sunday). Eligible candidates may apply On-line for CTET-FEB 2014 on CBSE/CTET website.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a Board of Education for public and private schools, under the Union Government of India. It affiliates all Kendriya Vidyalayas, all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, private schools, and most of the schools approved by central government of India.

Important Dates

  • Opening date for Online Application Forms: 11 October 2013
  • Closing date for Online Application Forms: 31 October 2013
  • Last date of receipt of application form: 7 November 2013 (15 November 2013 for the candidates belonging to remote areas viz. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Island and Lakshadweep)
  • Date of CTET Examination: 16 February 2014 (Sunday)

Date & Time of Paper- II Examination (Classes VI-VIII): 16 February 2014 at 09.30 TO 12.00 Hrs.
Date & Time of Paper- I Examination (Classes I-V): 16 February 2014 at 14.00 TO 16.30 Hrs.


CTET-FEB 2014 Details
Primary Level Teacher: Classes I-V
Junior Level Teacher: Classes VI-VIII



Educational Qualification

  • For Classes I-V (Primary Stage):  12th or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR 12th or its equivalent with minimum 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002. OR 12th or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR 12th or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). OR Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education.

 

  • For Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage):  Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR Graduation with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). OR Graduation with minimum 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR 12th or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR 12th or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/B.Sc.Ed. OR Graduation with minimum 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).


Application Fees

  • For Paper – I or Paper – II one of these: General/OBC candidate has to pay Rs.500/- and SC/ST/Diff. Abled candidate has to pay Rs.250/-
  • For Paper – I and Paper – II both: General/OBC candidate has to pay Rs.800/- and SC/ST/Diff. Abled candidate has to pay Rs.400/-


Selection Process

Selection of the candidate will be made on the basis of their marks obtained in the written examination.

How to Apply

  • Eligible candidates may apply online through CTET website www.ctet.nic.in. On or before 31 October 2013.
  • On successful submission of online application, Candidates are required to take print out of the computer generated Confirmation Page and send it to CBSE, CTET Unit, after affixing a passport size photograph and signature in the space provided, and also with the original CBSE copy of Challan( if fees paid through Challan).
  • Candidates have to send application form to the address given below before 7 November 2013.
