With this, the holidays are again limited to weekends and special occasions. The month of February also brings day-offs to schoolgoers. Students will be getting holidays for Vasant Panchami, Guru Ravidas Jayanti, etc. It should be noted that some schools may use their discretion to announce non-gazetted school holidays. Lucknow School News: School Timings Changed Till Feb 3

The Lucknow district government has mandated that all schools offer online instruction through February 3, 2024, while the cold wave that is still affecting Uttar Pradesh persists. The most recent notification states that schools offering offline instruction would only be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Vasant Panchani School Holiday

Saraswati Puja, also known as Vasant Panchami is a Hindu festival usually celebrated in February. On this auspicious day, Goddess Saraswati (goddess of learning, knowledge, and music) is worshipped. Schools and colleges either remain shut or celebrate this day.

Shivaji Jayanti School Holiday

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti marks the birth anniversary of the great Maratha Emperor Shivaji Maharaj. The objective is to honor his role in restoring the Maratha Empire and celebrate his vast legacy. Schools either remain closed or organise events to commemorate his contribution to Indian History. 

Guru Ravidas Jayanti School Holiday

Guru Ravidas Jayanti marks the birthday of Guru Ravidas, a renowned saint who contributed to the Bhakti movement and made efforts to eradicate the caste system. Schools usually remain closed on his birth anniversary.
