UIDAI CEO Ajay Bhushan Pandey appointed as new revenue secretary
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has appointed the Unique Identification Authority of India CEO Ajay Bhushan Pandey as the new revenue secretary. He will succeed current Finance and Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia, who is retiring on November 30.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on November 17, 2018 appointed Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) CEO Ajay Bhushan Pandey as the new revenue secretary. He will succeed current Finance and Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia, who is retiring on November 30.
According to the notification by the Appointments Committee, Pandey will continue to hold the charge as the CEO of UIDAI and GSTN Chairman until further orders. Pandey is a 1984 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Maharashtra cadre.

Girish Chandra Murmu
The Special Secretary in the Department of Revenue, Girish Chandra Murmu has been appointed as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) of the Department of Expenditure. He will take charge after the retirement of current Expenditure Secretary Ajay Narayan Jha on January 31, 2019.
The 1985 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre is currently serving as a special secretary in the revenue department.
Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash has been posted as additional secretary in the Department of Telecommunications.
Punjab cadre IAS officer Chhabilendra Roul, who is currently the special secretary in the department of agricultural research and education, has been appointed as officer on special duty (OSD) in the fertilizers department.
Roul will take over as secretary on superannuation of Bharathi S Sihag at the end of December 2018.
Food Corporation of India chairman and managing director Yogendra Tripathy has been appointed as secretary in the tourism department. Tripathy will take charge after the retirement of Rashmi Verma at the end of November 2018.
The Director of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Upma Chawdhry has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Youth Affairs.
The West Bengal IAS officer, Sumanta Chaudhuri, who is currently the Managing Director of Small Farmers’ Agri-Business Consortium in the agriculture department, has been appointed as the Secretary in the Coal Ministry.
The special secretary in the department of telecommunications, N Sivasailam has been appointed as special secretary (logistics), in the department of commerce.
Shalini Prasad, the special secretary in the Panchayati Raj ministry has been appointed as member Secretary in the Tariff Commission in the department of industrial policy and promotion.

Ashok Kumar Singh, additional secretary at Lok Sabha Secretariat, has been appointed as Secretary in the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes.
The special secretaries are of the same rank as secretaries with the only difference that the latter act as functional heads of a department.
