According to the latest reports, the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council has postponed the Assam HS C1st year exams 2021. According to the notification issued, the Assam HS 1st year (Class 11) exams have been postponed while a decision has not been made regarding the Assam Class 10 and 12 Board exams.
Decision on class 10,12 exams
According to local news reports, the decision on Postponing or cancelling the Assam class 10 and 12 exams is likely to be taken by May 3, 2021. The Assam Board examinations are scheduled to be conducted from May 11, 2021.
Assam Board class 10 exams will be conducted by the Board of Secondary Education while the Class 12 Exams will be conducted by the AHSEC. An approximate number of 4 lakh students are expected to appear for the Assam Board class 10 and 12 exams.
Students and parents urge for postponing exams
Students and parents in Assam have been urging the state government to postpone the exams due to the second wave of COVID-19. Although the state has reported a small number of cases, the cases are on the rise and many are expecting that the exams will be postponed to ensure the safety of the students.
Students and parents have also been requesting the state board to cancel the class 10 exams like the CBSE and few other state boards. The CBSE class 10 examinations have been canceled by the board while the class 12 exams have been postponed due to the increasing COVID-19 cases in the country.
