CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme: The Central Board of Secondary Education has extended the last date for the registrations of the Single Girl Child scholarship scheme. The registrations for CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girls Child will close on October 31, 2019. The last date to submit the hard copy of the renewed application form is November 25, 2019. Candidates interested to apply for the scholarship scheme can visit the official website to apply. As per the schedule released earlier, the last date for the submission of the application form was October 18, 2019. Only those candidates who have qualified CBSE class 10 examination from any of the affiliated CBSE schools are eligible to apply for the scholarship. The students can apply for Single Girl Child Scholarship - 2019 (Fresh Application) as well as the online application of the CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child of Class X – Renewal awarded in 2018.
The CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme is for the meritorious girl students who are the only child for their parents. The students applying must have passed CBSE Class 10 examination with 60 percent or more marks and wish to continue their educations for classes 11 and 12. The scholarship scheme is aimed at recognizing the efforts of the parents in promoting education among girls and provide talented students with due encouragement.

The students who are eligible for the scholarship will get Rs. 500 as a scholarship per month for the next two years. As per the guidelines provided for the scholarship NRI applicants are also eligible to apply for the scholarship. The tuition fee for the NRI students has been decided to a maximum of Rs. 6000 per month.
