Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ will inaugurate 15 newly constructed Kendriya Vidyalaya buildings along with laying the foundation stone for 6 new KVs. The Kendriya Vidyalayas are located in 13 states and UTs across the country. The inauguration ceremony will take place on 11th October 2019 through Video Conferencing from New Delhi. The event is being acclaimed as the first time when such a high number of buildings are being inaugurated by the Union HRD minister.
The 15 newly constructed KVs to be inaugurated include - KV Golaghat (Assam), KV Haflong (Assam), KV Tamulpur (Assam), KV Araria (Bihar), KV Jaitpur (Gujarat), KV Viramgaon (Gujarat), KV Kargil (Ladakh), KV Kodagu (Karnataka), KV No. 2 Satna (Madhya Pradesh), KV Sheopur (Madhya Pradesh), KV Baitul (Madhya Pradesh), KV Sambalpur (Odisha), KV Shivgarh (Uttar Pradesh), KV Perambalur (Tamil Nadu), KV Miryalguda (Telangana).
Pokhriyal will also lay the foundation stone of these 6 new KVs – KV Longding (Arunachal Pradesh), KV Kavardha (Chhattisgarh), KV Girdih (Jharkhand), KV Chennapatna (Karnataka), KV Jagatsinghpur (Odisha), KV Nizamabad (Telangana).
The construction of these new Kendriya Vidyalya campuses will benefit over 22 thousand students as per the official report. The report also mentions that the project has been completed in record time with an approximate cost investment of 398 crores. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), under Department of Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource and Development, India was established in November, 1962. Presently, it has 1067 functional schools including 3 outside India at Tehran, Kathmandu and Moscow.
