Founder of the Gupta Dynasty: Sri Gupta
One of the greatest empires in ancient India, the Gupta Empire was founded by Sri Gupta, who ruled from 240 to 280 CE. The Magadha province was ruled by Sri Gupta, who became the founder of a dynasty that would later usher in the Golden Age of India. Even though he held a very humble title, that of Maharaja, his legacy in terms of politics cannot be understated. His successors included his son Ghatotkacha, as well as the great Chandragupta I, who turned his small kingdom into an empire.
In addition, Sri Gupta had a very open-minded character. For example, he constructed a temple for Chinese Buddhist monks, which is an illustration of his respect towards various religions and cultures. It should be said that there is little information regarding Sri Gupta's private life. Nevertheless, the founder of such a great dynasty has a lot to tell his descendants even after his death. In addition, Sri Gupta's son Ghatotkacha took his place as the ruler, followed by the famous Chandragupta I.

Such names as Aryabhata, who was responsible for the development of mathematics and astronomy; Kalidasa, who contributed greatly to Sanskrit literature; Varahamihira, who made contributions to the field of astrology and astronomy; and Vatsyayana, who composed the famous Kamasutra, should be mentioned.
Apart from the academic progress made by the Gupta scholars, the era saw great advances in the sphere of art, sculpture, temple construction, and trade. All in all, peace, prosperity, and religious tolerance prevailed in society at large.
