The Union Ministry for Human Resources Development has launched a new initiative for technical education which includes weightage to the feedback of students in the evaluation of teachers and the mentoring of 727 technical institutions by the institutions with better performance and retired faculty in order to enable them to achieve accreditation.

The Minister for Human Resources Development Ramesh Pokhriyal unveiled the schemes which will be implemented by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) on Wednesday. On the occasion, the minister unveiled a model curriculum for the diploma courses as well.

Close to 5000 students from the technical institutions will participate and attempt a Guinness record in making recycled cloth bags in order to promote female entrepreneurs in waste management.
