NEET 2021: As per the latest update, the Ministry of Education has added a new exam city for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) exam. The new exam city is Dubai in addition to the already existing Kuwait centre. Candidates who want to apply for the exam to appear from the Dubai centre can apply online from today, 23rd July 2021, onwards. The last date to apply for the newly added exam centre is 6th August 2021 on the official site - neet.nta.nic.in.
While announcing the new NEET UG exam centre, the Ministry of Education in the social media handle said: “NEET (UG)-2021 exam centre has been created in Dubai in addition to the one already at Kuwait city.”

NTA NEET Important Dates 2021
As per the dates released by NTA, the last date to make payment of the application fees is till 7th August 2021. Also, candidates who have already applied for NEET UG 2021 can change their choice of city of exam centre to Dubai (if they wish so). They can do so during the correction period from 8th to 12th August 2021. After the addition of Dubai as a new exam city, the NEET-UG exam will be conducted on 12th September 2021, at 203 exam centres.
The Education Minister while releasing the NEET application assured the students that all necessary precautions will be taken by NTA to ensure the safety of students appearing for the NEET exam.
Decision To Add New NEET Exam City
As per the official notice, the decision to add a new centre in Dubai for this exam in addition to Kuwait city was to facilitate the Indian students based in the Middle East countries to appear for the exam. Sanjay Bhattacharya, secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) wrote a letter to the ministry requesting to add Dubai and Doha exam centres outside India.
The Indian community in the Gulf countries should be informed and the Indian Embassies at Kuwait and Dubai are advised to provide their full cooperation to NTA in conducting NEET-UG 2021 in a fair and secured manner. Also, the MoE has tweeted about the increase of NEET exam centres.

Recently on 15th July, the Education Ministry has also introduced additional NEET UG exam centres in Tamil Nadu. The Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan while announcing the additional NEET UG exam centres in Tamil Nadu said: “for the convenience of the students of Tamil Nadu, four cities - Chengalpet, Virudhunagar, Dindigul and Tiruppur have been added to the list of places where NEET(UG) will be conducted.”
The number of cities where the examination is conducted will be increased from 155 to 198. The number of examination centres will also be increased from 3,862 used in 2020. Last year, it was conducted on 13th September amid strict precautions in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
