NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam: A 22-year-old NEET aspirant was found dead at his residence in Rajasthan’s Sikar district, just days before the NEET UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21. Police said a suicide note has been recovered from the room, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
The deceased has been identified as a NEET aspirant, a resident of Kari village in Jhunjhunu district. He had been living in Sikar along with his mother, elder sister, and younger brother while preparing for the national medical entrance examination. According to officials, this was reportedly his third attempt at clearing NEET UG.
Family Found Him Unconscious Inside the Room
According to police, the aspirant's family members found him hanging inside his room and immediately informed the authorities. Police teams reached the spot, initiated legal proceedings, and recovered a suicide note from the residence. Officials have not disclosed the contents of the note and said all possible angles are being examined before reaching any conclusion regarding the cause of death.
Body Sent for Post-Mortem
The body was shifted to Shri Kalyan Government Hospital for post-mortem examination, according to the reports. After completing the necessary formalities, the body was handed over to the family members. Police officials stated that further details will emerge after the investigation and forensic examination are completed.
Second NEET Aspirant Death Reported in Sikar Recently
The incident has drawn attention as it is the second reported death of a NEET aspirant in Sikar, Rajasthan within the past month as per the sources. Earlier, another student preparing for NEET allegedly died by suicide after the cancellation of the May 3 NEET UG 2026 examination following the paper leak controversy. While authorities have not linked the two incidents, both cases have highlighted concerns surrounding the mental pressure faced by competitive exam aspirants.
