NEET UG Result 2024 Press Conference: The National Testing Agency conducted a press conference clarifying the irregularities and the complaints highlighted by students. The NEET UG 2024 result was announced on June 4, 2024. Since the announcement of the results, students have raised issues and concerns regarding the examination, the declaration of results, the awarding of grace marks and the transparency of the marking scheme followed.

NTA Director General Subodh Kumar Singh states that an expert committee has been formed to look into the grace marks provided by the NTA in the NEET 2024 result. The NTA chief informed that over 1600 students have been affected although the integrity of the exam has not been compromised. The NTA chief clarified that if needed, the revised of 1600 candidates will be revised based on the recommendations put forth by the committee.

Of the 24 lakh students who appeared for the NEET UG 2024 exams on May 5, 2024, only 1600 who appeared in 6 exam centres were affected. 17 students were earlier confirmed as toppers, however, due to the challenge raised in the physics exams, 44 candidates were awarded 715 to 720 and the number of toppers jumped to 61. 6 exam centres were affected due to the wrong distribution of question papers and torn OMR sheets.

The students alleged that they also got less time to attempt the exam due to which petitions were filed in the High Court demanding a retest or compensation for time. The court was informed of the formation of a committee which found that time was lost and students must be compensated. NTA further clarified that the compensatory marks awarded is based on the Supreme Court order dated June 13, 2018.
