The Punjab Technical and Industrial Training Department has decided to cancel affiliations to seven pharmacy colleges in Punjab after mass copying in exams were done in the last two months. The institutions in question include Vidya Sagar Paramedical College, Vinayaka College of Pharmacy, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Pharmacy, Krishna College of Pharmacy, Lord Krishna College of Pharmacy, Modern College of Pharmacy, and Aryabhatta College of Pharmacy.
According to the official statement released directions to charge sheet Government Polytechnic College, Principal Navneet Walia, and section officer Anil Kumar have also been issued.
Answer sheets found matching
According to Technical Education Principal Secretary Anurag Verma has stated that it was found that the answer copies of all the students of the offline exams matched word by word and some papers solved online by the students have also matched to some extent. He further added that the students opted to answer the same questions during their final year exams.
Details reports asked
Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training Secretary and Principal of the Government Polytechnic College (Girls) have also been asked to submit a detailed report where the answer sheets of the seven colleges in Sangrur District were sent for evaluation. Reports clearly mention mass copying in seven pharmacy colleges during exams which were conducted in September and October 2020 further adding that due process has been initiated to cancel the affiliation of the schools concerned.
The colleges will be issued with a show-cause notice within a week for the cancellation of their affiliation. The examinations of the above-mentioned colleges will also be canceled and directions have been issued to conduct re-examinations.
