**Some of the sample questions from CBSE Class 9 Mathematics Solved Practice Paper : Set-I are given below:**

**Q.** If the vertical angle of an isosceles triangle is 100^{o} then find the measures of its base angles.

**Sol.**

Let the measure of each of the base angles be *x*°.

Now,

* x* + *x* + 100 = 180^{o} [ Angle sum property of a triangle]

⇒ 2*x *+ 100 = 180

⇒ 2*x *= 180 – 100 = 80

⇒ *x *= 40

∴ The measure of each of the base angles of the triangle is 40°.

**Q. **A batsman in his 11^{th} innings makes a score of 68 runs and there by increases his average score by 2. What is his average score after the 11 th innings.

**Sol.**

Let average score after 11^{th} innings = *x*

Then average after 10^{th} innings = *x* – 2

According to question,

10(*x* – 2) + 68 = 11x

⇒ 10*x *– 20 + 68 = 11*x*

⇒ *x* = 48

Hence, the average score after 11^{th} innings is 48.

**Q****.** AB is a line segment and P is its mid-point. D and E are points on the same side of AB such that ∠BAD = ∠ABE and ∠EPA = ∠DPB. Show that

Show that

(i) ΔDAP ≅ ΔEBP

(ii) AD = BE

**Sol.**

As ∠ EPA = ∠ DPB (Given)

⇒ ∠ EPA + ∠DPE = ∠ DPB + ∠DPE

∴ ∠APD = ∠BPE …(i)

Now in ΔDAP and ΔEBP

AP = BP (Given P is midpoint of AB)

∠BAD = ∠ABE (Given)

∠APD = ∠BPE (From equation (i))

Hence ΔDAP ≅ ΔEBP (By ASA congruence rule)

⇒ AD = BE (CPCT)
