SSC CHT 2026: Vacancy List Out For Combined Hindi Translator Exam, Check Notification PDF Here

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the tentative vacancy list for the Combined Hindi Translators (CHT) Examination 2026 on its official website at ssc.gov.in. As per the notification issued on July 9, 2026 a total of 303 vacancies have been announced for various translator posts across Central Government Ministries and Departments. Candidates preparing for Junior Hindi Translator (JHT), Junior Translation Officer (JTO), Junior Translator (JT), Senior Hindi Translator (SHT) and Senior Translator posts can now check the vacancy details.

In addition, 15 vacancies have also been announced for various reserved category candidates like OH, HH, VH, and other PWD categories, taking the total to 318 vacancies. 

SSC CHT 2026 Notification PDF 

Eligible and interested candidates must check the detailed notification for the tentative vacancy list regarding the CHT posts. It contains details about the post, department, vacancies across categories, etc. The SSC JHT exam is expected to be held in the months of August-September 2026, and the admit card is expected to be released around 7-10 days before the exam. Steps to Apply for SSC CHT Vacancy 2026

Candidates can follow the steps below to complete the application process –

• Go to the official SSC website at ssc.gov.in

• Complete One Time Registration (OTR) if not done.

• Log in using your credentials.

• Click on the SSC CHT 2026 application link.

• Fill in personal, educational and communication details.

• Upload the documents, such as the photograph and signature, in the format asked.

• Pay the application fee online through UPI or net banking

• Verify details and then submit the application form.

• Download and print the final application form for future reference.

SSC CHT 2026 Examination Pattern

The SSC CHT exam consists of 2 papers. Paper 1 is a CBT-based exam which assesses candidates language proficiency in the subjects of English and Hindi and Paper 2 is a pen-and-paper-based exam which is of a descriptive nature. Check the exam pattern for both papers in the table given below.

1. Paper 1 CBT

According to the previous year examination trend Paper 1 consists of 2 subjects, English and Hindi. Both subjects consist of 100 questions carrying 100 marks.

2. Paper 2 Descriptive

Those who clear Paper 1 will appear for Paper 2, which is a conventional pen-and-paper-based format. The exam will be of 200 marks, and the total time allocated is 2 hours.

• Translation in both languages will be done.

• An essay in both languages would be conducted

SSC CHT Exam 2026 What Next?

As the tentative vacancies are announced candidates must focus on strengthening their Hindi and English translation skills and revise the latest syllabus. SSC is expected to conduct the computer based examination in August–September 2026. After the declaration of Paper 1 results, shortlisted candidates will be called for Paper 2. The final selection will be based on performance in both papers followed by document verification.
