1. (a) Abhay Thakur

Veteran diplomat Abhay Thakur has recently been appointed as the new Ambassador of India to Myanmar. Abhay was a key member of the team guiding the talks during India's G20 presidency last year. Abhay is a 1992 batch officer of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and is currently working in the Ministry of External Affairs.

2. (b) Adani Power Limited

Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved 100 percent acquisition of Lanco Amarkantak Power Limited by Adani Power Limited. Adani Power Limited (Acquirer) is a company of Adani Group. Lanco Amarkantak is a company associated with thermal power generation. The Competition Commission of India is the main national competition regulator in India.

3. (a) Harivansh Narayan Singh

Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh participated in the 148th meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, IPU, in Geneva, Switzerland. He led the Indian parliamentary delegation. The Inter-Parliamentary Union is an international organization of national parliaments. It was established in 1889.  

4. (c) Vinay

India's Vinay performed brilliantly in the Para Powerlifting World Cup held in Egypt and won the gold medal by lifting 120 kg in the 59 kg youth category. 18 year old athlete Vinay is a resident of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. In the same event, Ahmed Abdelkader of Egypt won the silver medal.

The Election Commission has launched the Saksham app to ensure accessibility and inclusivity in the electoral process. The Election Commission has announced that voters above 85 years of age and persons with disabilities with 40 percent benchmark disability can vote from home.
