The Indian Cricket Team was ranked as number one team in recently released International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 rankings. ICC T20 ranking was released on 2 April 2014. It replaced Sri Lanka from the number one position.
India was able to push Sri Lanka to Number two due to it’s unbeaten run in its group in the ongoing T20 World Cup in Bangladesh.
India gained seven ratings points after remaining unbeaten in their group and finished on 130 points. This brought the Indian team on par with Sri Lanka. But when ratings were calculated beyond the decimal point, India found itself ranked higher than Sri Lanka.
