Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on August 20, 2020, launched the ‘Indira Rasoi Yojana’ in order to provide quality nutritious food to poor people at just Rs. 8.
The newly launched scheme will be rolled in 213 urban local bodies of the state which will include 10 locations each in the state capital’s c greater and heritage area.
Antar Singh Nehra, Jaipur District Collector informed that the scheme will also start in 12 municipalities of Jaipur district. Chief Minister of Rajasthan launched the scheme through video conferencing while other ministers joined the conference from their residences or offices.

Indira Rasoi Yojana: Key Highlights
• Under Indira Rasoi Yojana, fresh and nutritious food will be provided at Rs. 8 per plate.
• The meal will have 100 gms of pulses, 250 gms chapatti, 100 gms of vegetables, and pickles.
• The menu of the meal can also be altered as per the local requirement as recommended by the district level committees.
• The food will be made available from 8.30 am in the morning till 1 pm and 5 pm to 8 pm.
• The state government of Rajasthan has also decided to give a grant of Rs. 12 per plate for which Rs. 100 crores annually have been proposed in the state budget.
• The food quality will be checked by the District Level committees from time to time and complaints can also be lodged with the district collectors.
• Institutions and individuals can also provide financial aid to the CM Relief Fund or at district collector offices for the scheme.
About Indira Rasoi Yojana:
Indira Rasoi Yojana has been launched in Rajasthan to provide nutritious food to the poor at the minimum price. With the defined timings, the state government has aimed to provide healthy meals with a combination of pulses and vegetables.
Under the scheme which will be rolled in 213 bodies, and a total of 358 rasois will be operated by the state government. The administration has opened the rasois at bus stands, hospitals, railway stations, and public places which will be administered with the help of a mobile app and CCTV cameras.
The newly launched scheme will benefit around 4 crores 87 lakh people by providing them a basic meal at a minimum price.
As per the State Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, the Indira Rasoi Yojana is on the name of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi who dedicated her whole life working and benefitting the poor of the country.
