United States Embassy in Beirut on 5 January 2014 issued a warning for Americans in Lebanon to avoid hotels, western-style shopping malls, grocery stores and social events. The embassy has warned Americans because such sites are likely to be target for terrorist attacks.
The recommendations of the embassy were issued along with a security message to Americans in Lebanon. This warning has been issued following the spate of bombings and shootings in Beirut and other parts of Lebanon.

The Syrian violence has sent its tensions in Lebanon were the two communities of Lebanese Muslims are ready to conflict. The responsibility for the two blasts was taken by an al Qaeda linked group.
