Banaras Hindu University has announced a three-month part time certificate course under the project of the Education Ministry. The Certificate programme- Fundamentals of Social Design: Social Design in India and USA falls under the SPARC also known as Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration project of the Ministry of Education.
The course has been introduced with an aim to prepare ‘Creative change makers with the tools and methods to advance equity and social injustice becoming pioneers and leaders in the practice.
The candidates who can register for the programme include students, designers, professionals, academicians from different disciplines, and a knowledge base. The institute while elaborating about the course stated that the students registering for the programme will be introduced to social design regarding society, technology, human behaviour shift, contemporary India, and many other aspects.

According to the details available on the official notification, the course will begin from May 17, 2021, and continue until August 18, 2021.
BHU Campus to remain closed
According to a notification released earlier, the BHU campus will remain closed until May 15, 2021, and no online classes will be conducted during the said period. The decision to keep the campus closed was taken considering the COVID-19 situation in the state. Offline teaching and learning were suspended in BHU since April and the exams were announced to be conducted online in the open book method.
