The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a notice to all its affiliated schools, directing them to create a functional website and upload important details about their teachers, including their qualification, along with other information and prescribed documents. This step is a part of the mandatory public disclosure requirement set by the board. 

Key Points from the CBSE Notice 

  • The CBSE has emphasized that all affiliated schools must develop and maintain a fully functional website. 
  • Schools must upload details of their teachers, including their qualifications, on their website as part of the public disclosure process.
  • Schools are required to upload other information and documents, ensuring compliance with the CBSE guidelines. 

Issues Noted in the Compliance

  • Non- functional Websites: Despite repeated instructions, many schools still do not have a working website.
  • Incomplete/Missing information: Some schools with websites have either not uploaded the required details or have uploaded the partial information.
  • Inactive Links: In some cases, even though schools have uploaded the documents, the links to these files are inactive. 
  • Visibility of Information: Some schools have uploaded the prescribed information/ documents, but the links or icons for these documents are not visible on the homepage. 

The CBSE’s notice highlights the importance of making necessary information about teachers and schools publicly available through their website. Schools are advised to ensure that all required documents are uploaded,  accessible and shown on the website to comply with the guidelines set up by the board.
