Schools and Coaching institutions have been reopened in Chandigarh from today - February 14, 2022. According to the guidelines issued, the institutions will be functioning at full capacity in the offline mode and classes will be conducted in the hybrid mode as students will be allowed to choose between offline and online classes.
According to the official notification issued by the administration, Schools and coaching institutions will be allowed to start functioning at full capacity in the hybrid mode for all classes with effect from February 14, 2022.
The notification issued also mentioned other COVID Standard Operating Procedures and information related to the night curfew which has now been lifted. Detailed order from the Secretary of Education, Chandigarh Administration regarding the guidelines will be followed in schools as more instructions are also expected soon.
Pressure to reopen universities, colleges, and schools has been built in the Rajya Sabha. Ministers when speaking on the education of students have stated that online classes have impacted education in the past 2 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Chandigarh Administration had earlier on permitted the reopening of Higher Education Institutions, universities and colleges from February 1, 2022. Students in the age group of 15 to 18 years are also required to be vaccinated while teaching and non-teaching staff members need to complete both the doses of their vaccinations.
The state government has also restricted gatherings of more than 200 people indoors and 500 people outdoors.
With the decreasing number of COVID-19 cases, many of the state governments have announced the reopening of educational institutions in the hybrid mode. Restrictions have been placed along with guidelines that need to be followed for the reopening of the schools across the country.
