CA Exam 2024 Postponement: The Delhi Court refused a petition seeking to revise the Chartered Accountants (CA) intermediate and final exams exams. CA aspirants filed this plea requesting the court to order the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAI) to postpone the CA 2024 May exams.
The court while rejecting the plea cited that no such rule exists that prevents an organisation from holding examinations during polls. “This court is surprised that such a request has been made,” said the single bench comprising of Justice C Hari Shankar during the hearing. The bench further mentioned that the petition is bereft of substance.
The court also pointed out that no CA Exam dates clash with the voting dates and the students who have a problem with appearing for the exams may refrain from taking it. The court asked applicants to balance their preparation if they wished to cast their vote.
ICAI CA 2024: Important Dates
ICAI had already revised the CA Exams date due to the Lok Sabha election date. As per the revised schedule, the CA exams are scheduled to be held on:

However, CA aspirants are not happy with these dates. The petitioners have highlighted many issues that might arise with the exams happening in May, such as lack of transportation, usage of loudspeakers during electioneering, etc.
Child activist Anubha Srivastava Sahai was representing the students in the court. Some practicing CAs are also supporting the students in this fight against ICAI for changing the dates.
