IIT Bombay Techfest 2023: Techfest is the Annual Science and Technology Festival of IIT Bomba, under the patronage of UNESCO, UNICEF, Make in India, and Digital India. Techfest is also Asia’s Largest Science and Technology festival with a footfall of over 175,000+, an online presence of over 5 million with outreach across 2500+ Indian and 500+ International Universities.
The three-day fest is being held from December 27 to 29, 2023. The first day of the fest was conducted successfully on December 27, 2023. Key speakers included Akash Ambani Chairman, Reliance Jio, and Dr. G Satheesh Reddy, Chief DRDO.
The second day of the fest commenced at 8 am today with the lecture series featuring Shri S. Somnath Chairman, ISRO. Another major attraction for the second day of IIT Bombay Techfest 2023 is the Defence Symposium panel discussion on maritime security in the Indo-Pacific. The day also includes Technoholix, International Robowars finals, International Exhibitions, and various Competitions.
Speakers at the Lecture Series on Day 2
Key personalities speaking at the Techfest Day 2 Lecture series include Shri S. Somnath Chairman of ISRO, Taro Kono, and Licypriya Kangujam who also addressed world leaders at the 2019 UN Climate Change Conference, urging swift action on climate change.
Another attraction of the Day 2 lecture series is the Defense Symposium. The mission of Techfest 2023 is to engage the increasing number of students in the journey of fostering tech curiosity and awareness among young minds. Keeping this thought in mind Tech enthusiasts and defense aficionados will witness the much-anticipated Defense Symposium with General Manoj Mukund Naravane, former Chief of the Army Staff, Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria, former Chief of Air Staff, and Admiral Karambir Singh, former Chief of Naval Staff.
Other Events of Techfest Day 2
Other major attractions of the second day of IIT Bombay Techfest 2023 are the Exhibitions which include Techconnect, Auto Expo, International Exhibitions, and NSG: Advanced Weapon and K9 Skill Display.
Competitions such as Boeing Aeromodelling, and Techfest Olympiad are also being conducted on the second day along with a few events similar to that of Day 1. The finals on the International Robowards for three categories are being held from 9 am to 5 pm today.
IIT Bombay Techfest 2023 Day 3
The last and final day of the three-day IIT Bombay Techfest 2023 will be held on December 29, 2023. Top speakers on the third day of the fest include Harsh Bir Sangha - Missions and Capabilities Delivery Director at the UK Space Agency and former Head of the UK Government’s International Research and Innovation Strategy. , Albert De Roeck - Senior Research Scientist at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), Olga Algayerova - former Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.
Other events on the third day of the Techfest will be similar to the first and second day with exhibitions and competitions. Technoholix with Matisse and Sadko, Full-throttle finals, and Auto expo will also be held on the closing day.
The events will begin at 8 am and entry will be provided on a first come first serve basis.
