Manipur Government launches e-learning website for school students in the state, Mobile app to be launched soon

The Manipur government has launched an e-learning website for the school students in the state. The Mobile app will soon be released.

The Manipur Education Department has launched an e-learning website for the students studying in class 1 to 12 in the state. The e-learning website has been launched only for those students studying in the schools affiliated to the Manipur Board and Council of Higher Education. The government is soon to launch the mobile app - Lairik (Books n Manipuri Dialect)

The launch of the e-learning website was also attended by the Commission of Education (S)T Ranjit Singh, Director of Education (S) Th Kirankumar, Additional Director Education (S) Hills Lerte Hmangte Kom, Additional Director Education (S) Valley Ch Schi Devi and other concerned officials of the department and Xtreme Waves designer of the website. 

Manipur Education Minister Dr. Thokchom Radheshyam at the launch of the e-learning website said that Lairik will be made available on Google Playstore within five days and on the IOS Platforms within a month. 

The e-learning website contains 85 bi-lingual audiovisual classes which include lairik.net and laireek.net. The Education Minister has assured that both these domains have been occupied by the government in order to avoid piracy. He further stated that the launch of the website also marks a new chapter in the history of Education in Manipur as the students can now go through the lessons for easier self-learning. 

Manipur Board to promote class 11 students

The Minister has further stated that the website is open to suggestions, comments, and constructive criticism. Manipur state government has decided to promote the students of class 11 to class 12 for the next academic session due to the COVID-19 lockdown. The students will be promoted based on the term test assessments conducted by the schools. The class 11 examinations were cancelled by the government after February 19, 2020, as five question papers were leaked on social media.
