SCM Youth Celebrates 2nd Cohort with Inspiring Talks from 10 Young Fellows

SCM Youth concludes its 2nd cohort in 2024 with the publication of the SCM Youth talks of its 10 fellows. The 2nd cohort has completed their fellowship and their final SCM Youth videos have been published on the SCM Youth YouTube Channel. SCM Youth is the platform for Young People who will create the ‘Future We Should Have’.

An SCM Young Fellow is a young change maker between the ages of 10-24, who has pursued an extraordinary idea which has the potential to change the way we work and make things better, and wants to tell the world about it. SCM Young fellows critically analyse a problem the world is facing, consider solutions for it, research them and produce a scholarly body of work around it or prove it with a proof of concept.

The list of 10 fellows of the SCM Youth 2nd Cohort is given below

1. Aishani Srivastava, Class 10 student from Scottish High, Gurgaon
2. Akshaj Srivastava, Class 7 student from Scottish High, Gurgaon
3. Anzilla Adeen, 2nd-year Political Science student from Delhi University
4. Arohi Mahajan, a Class 12 student from Cambridge International, Jalandhar
5. Arshia Kohli, 3rd year Economics student from Ashoka University
6. Kartikay Bains, 1st year Civil Engineering student from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala
7. Rishaank Sirpaul, Class 12 student from Birla Vidya Niketan, Delhi
8. Saisha Kamla Dudha, 3rd year Liberal Arts student from Jindal Global University
9. Tashvi Aneja, Class 12 student from Delhi Public School, Bangalore
10. Yuvakshi Dam, 2nd year Economics student from Ashoka University

SCM Youth Mentors

SCM Youth’s second cohort was mentored by global thought leaders in May and June this year. The mentors are

• Parikshit Bhardwaj
• Samarth Pathak
• Priyank Sharma
• Sagina Walyat

The fellows worked on creating their SCM Youth Talks which were edited and then published by the SCM Youth team. The Inaugural cohort fellows Ritisha, Nidhish, Ishita, Vihaan and Surya volunteered and helped out in the operations as well as mentoring the new cohort with their experience from last year.

The ‘Cohort of Such Conversations Matter Youth Fellowship’ had an equally diverse group of students as the previous year who represented multiple education levels from Grade 7 to final year College students who represented multiple academic subjects such as Physics, Micro-Biology, Economics, History, Sociology, Political Science, Psychology, Chemistry, Architecture, Behavioural Sciences, Botany and Design. 

Their topics of research included Gender, Alternative History, Climate Change, Sustainability, Youth, Dermatology, Financial Literacy, Standards of Living, Intergenerational relations and Mental Health Awareness. The fellows were young minds between the ages of 12 to 21 with 7 females and 3 males from regions of Delhi, Jalandhar, Bangalore and Gurgaon.
