VMC Schools: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation primary education committee will begin classes for students of standard 10 and 12 soon. According to reports the corporation will start class 10 in the next academic year while class 12 will begin in the coming years.
The committee had last year decided to begin classes for grade nine across four schools. However, given that the academic year is ending in 2024 the future of these students is uncertain in case they want to continue studying in class 10. Considering this, the civic body has decided to start class 10 in our schools.
Currently, 225 students are studying in class 9 across four schools run by the municipal corporation. Four principals have also been appointed in these schools. According to Minesh Pandya, Chairman of the primary education committee stated that classes will be added in all four schools where class 9 is being offered. Along with this class 9 is also set to begin in six other schools and will continue adding one class every year until the students reach class 12.
Pandya also added that the committee will hire more staff if required and in the long run the corporation plans to have at least one model school which provides education from nursery to class 12 with good infrastructure. VMS has also started six English medium schools including two schools consisting of nursery to class 8, two from class 6, and two with only nursery level.
