APPSC Group 1 2024 Important Notice: The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) will conduct the Group 1 services prelims exam on March 17, 2024. All registered candidates planning to participate in the prelims exam must adhere to the APPSC Group 1 exam guidelines prescribed by the commission. They must carry a hard copy of the admit card and a valid photo ID proof to the exam hall.
In this article, we have shared the complete details of APPSC Group 1 exam day instructions, shift timing released by the commission and a list of important documents to avoid any last-minute rush. It is compulsory to follow all the exam day guidelines to avoid disqualification of the candidature.
APPSC Group 1 Important Instructions
Candidates must remember all the instructions for the APPSC Group 1 exam day guidelines to avoid disturbing the decorum in the exam hall. Here is the list of guidelines to be followed on exam day, shared below for papers 1 and 2.
- Please write your registration number on the test booklet immediately upon receipt of the same. Check the test booklet and ensure that it contains all the questions. If you find any defect in the Test Booklet or Answer Sheet, please get it replaced immediately
- The Test Booklet of General Studies Paper 1 contains four parts and 120 questions. Part A has questions on history and culture; Part B has questions on constitution, polity, social justice and international relations; Part C has questions on the Indian and Andhra Pradesh economy and planning; and Part D has questions on geography. Each part carries 30 marks.
- The Test Booklet of General Studies Paper 2 contains two parts and 120 questions. Part A has general mental ability and administrative and psychological abilities; Part B (i) has science and technology; and Part B (ii) has current events of regional, National and international importance. Part A carries 60 marks, Part B (i) 30 marks and Part B (ii) 30 marks
- The question paper is set in English and translated into Telugu. The English version will be considered the authentic version for valuation purposes.
- Each question is followed by 4 answer choices. Of these, you have to select one correct answer and mark it on the OMR Answer Sheet by darkening the appropriate circle for the question. If more than one circle is darkened, the answer will not be valued at all. Use a blue or black ballpoint pen to make heavy black marks to fill the circle completely. Make sure there are no other stain marks. The use of whitener is prohibited. If used, it will lead to invalidation.
- Using the whitener, blade, eraser, chalk powder, or any kind of tampering to change the answers on OMR Answer Sheet will lead to invalidation.
- Calculators, Mathematical/Log Tables, Mobile Phones, Bluetooth instruments or any other Electronic Devices will not be allowed into the Examination Hall

APPSC Group 1 Shift Timings
The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission has released the APPSC Group 1 exam date and admit card on the official website. Along with the knowledge of exam day guidelines, candidates must also go through the shift timings to reach the exam centre on time. The exam is scheduled for March 17. APPSC Group 1 Exam Day Guidelines 2024
Candidates must remember all the points about the APPSC Group 1 exam day guidelines to avoid disturbing the decorum in the exam hall. Here is the list of guidelines to be followed on APPSC Group 1 2024 exam day shared below.
- Reach the exam centre at least 60 minutes before the commencement of the exam, as the candidates will be required to complete all the formalities required for the examination.
- Candidates should stay in the examination hall till expiry of full time, i.e., 2 hours. No candidate shall be allowed to leave the hall in the middle of the examination under any circumstances.
- The exam timing and entry time are printed on the hall ticket. Late entry after the given entry time would not be permitted. Candidates cannot leave the exam hall till the expiration of full-time.
- No personal items/belongings like electronic devices such as mobile / cell phones, programmable calculators, tablets, iPads, Bluetooth, pagers, watches or any other computing devices are allowed in the exam hall. Non-programmable calculators would be allowed wherever necessary.
- Loaning and interchanging of articles among the aspirants is not allowed in the examination hall, and any form of malpractice will not be entertained in the exam hall.
- Aspirants must behave in an orderly and disciplined manner while writing the exam.
- Candidates found using unfair means shall be disqualified from the selection.
- It is mandatory for the candidates to carry a hard copy of the APPSC Group 1 admit card and valid ID proof to the exam hall.
