The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the Class 9 Hindi Curriculum for the 2026–27 academic year. To navigate the language program, students should first review the course structure detailed in the new syllabus. The defining highlight of this session is a major shift away from rote memorization of heavy content in favor of competency-based, experiential learning. As part of this transition, CBSE is replacing traditional multiple-book combinations—such as Kshitij and Kritika for Course A, or Sparsh and Sanchayan for Course B—with a streamlined, single integrated learning textbook named 'Ganga'. This newly introduced material focuses on multi-lingual contexts, cultural heritage, and real-world creative communication.
CBSE Class 9 Hindi Syllabus 2026-27: Latest Update
The CBSE Class 9 Hindi syllabus has been transformed into a single integrated curriculum, completely removing the old division of Course A and Course B. The update introduces a unified approach focused on competency-based learning and language proficiency, replacing previous textbooks with the new NCERT "Ganga" textbook. The CBSE has introduced two course structures for Hindi paper. The paper is divided between Course- A, and Course-B. The biggest update is the retirement of the traditional textbooks (Kshitij & Kritika for Course A, and Sparsh & Sanchayan for Course B). They have been replaced by a single, integrated textbook titled "Ganga" (गंगा).
CBSE Class 9 Hindi Syllabus & Section-wise Weightage (R-1 and R-2)
The CBSE Class 9 Hindi Syllabus (2026-27) introduces a new, NEP-aligned tier system that replaces traditional courses with R-1 (native-level/primary track) and R-2 (practical/secondary track). Both tiers follow a 100-mark blueprint (80-mark written exam + 20-mark internal assessment), sharing an identical structure: 14 marks for Reading Comprehension (अपठित बोध), 16 marks for Applied Grammar (व्यावहारिक व्याकरण), 30 marks for Literature (पाठ्यपुस्तक - गंगा), and 20 marks for Creative Writing (रचनात्मक लेखन). While the section weightage is identical, the focus differs: the R-1 track tests deep literary and textual analysis, whereas the R-2 track prioritizes functional language mechanics, vocabulary building, and everyday communication skills.
